Alex's Spring Choir Preformance

Alex had his spring choir festival last Wednesday He had a solo we didn't know about he said he told us but I think with the move, the baby and everything else I thought it was the one he was doing at his old school.

He did a great job! He sang a part from 21 guns by Green Day.

They also sang Time Warp from Rocky Horror Picture Show, and a few others but we didn't bring out the camera till later and we should of taped his solo. Oh well nothing we can do about it now. Alex is turning out to be quite the musician he also had a Piano recital earlier this month. He is very talented and we are SOOO proud of him!

Saren Althea Miller

After 9 months and 12 hours of labor Saren Althea Miller made her way into this world on
March 28th 2011 at 3:22 pm. She weighed 7lb 2oz and was 19 1/2 inches long.

She's got long feet, they are so cute!

Mommy Daughter bonding time right after they cleaned her up. I'm in love!

First night home. She's so dang cute!

She already has Daddy wrapped around her finger!

Sleepy time!

We all love her she is such a joy to have in our home. So far she barely cry's and only wakes me up to feed at night. We are so grateful to have her as part of our family!

She just opened and closed her eye's. Its amazing how cool technology is now.

Because of having gestational diabetes I have to go in to get ultra sound testing twice a week. Every time we go in they try to get face shots of her with the 3D ultra sound but she never cooperates. We got lucky today! Hope you enjoy them as much as Jed and I did.

My friends daughter turned 4 on Saturday and I made her a purse cake. This little girl LOVES purse's, key, & necklaces. Can you guess her favorite colors?

So I decided I wanted to make Saren a rag quilt and it took me quite awhile to

figure out what fabric to get I couldn't find exactly what I wanted but I saw this pink and brown flower fabric and loved it so it won as my time is getting close and I don't know what my energy level will be later on...

I had some scraps left over and wanted to do "something" with them and was thinking fabric flowers but Jed suggested burp rags so I gave it a shot and it turned out cute. I ended up getting 5 made as I had extra squares left after I put the quilt together. I can't wait to meet her!

Since they had to stay home for Halloween Alex and his friends wanted

to scare the kids and dress up as Zombies.

As kids came up they would act like Zombies.

I think Corben was the best at it.

At one point a teenage girl came up and was

freaked out by them and Corben chased her

down the street! It was great!

This year with Halloween falling an a Sunday we decided not to let the boy's trick or treat.

But our Ward had a Trunk or Treat on Saturday so they got to get plenty of candy.

Jedrek had a Pokemon party again this year. We said it was a water battle and had our water slide out and a water volleyball game I found on clearance. But we failed to get pictures of the activities.

Rag Quilt

One of Jed's good friends from Best buys wife is pregnant and we were invited to there

baby shower. A few week before was his birthday party and we were invited

and just for small talk I asked her what her theme was for her baby and she said

Elephants! We'll a light went off in my head and I know what I had to do.

I had picked up a yard or so of this Elephant fabric for burp clothes at SAS

and knew I had to go get more to make a rag quilt for them. I've been wanting

to make one and this was a perfect time to make it!

I got the instructions here. I omitted the batting in the middle so

it wouldn't be so hot since it is made from flannel any how.

Here it is... I love the way it turned out.

Safari Baby Shower Cake

I was asked by a friend to make a cake for her sister in law's baby shower.

They didn't have any request besides the flavor and filling.

I logged on to her gift registry and found her bedding

and came up with this cake.

I had a fun time making all the Animal's.

It was a technique I've been wanting to learn...

The animal's were a bit heavy and didn't want to stay but...

I think it turned out pretty well!

Doug & I made this cake together. I baked the cake's, he carved them, I made all the frosting and fondant and covered the cake. He added all the details.

Friday Corben turned 7.

So Saturday we had his birthday party.

The theme he picked this year was ARMY.

My best friends husband and I made this cake together.

Topsy Turvy

I've been wanting to make one for a long time... I was scared to try it, it is such an intimidating

technique I was afraid to try it for fear of all my hard work not working.

I showed a picture of one to my friends who asked me to make her a cake and she loved it. (Secretly I was hoping she wouldn't want one like that). So I researched and read and watched tutorials online a million times and finally did it!

The top tier after I carved and dirty Iced it...

Bottom tier after Carved and Iced... a much harder tier to do I had to carve a flat spot so the

top tier would sit right on it.

Top tier after I decorated it. I made Chocolate Fondant! It SMELLS So Yummy!

Fully assembled, the bottom tier was a pain to cover, the fondant the first time wasn't right and when I went to take off the fondant part of the upper part tryed to come off and was never right after I recovered it. But it turned out good.

After all the finishing touches (except the tag) A good experience over all! Thanks Audra for having me face my fear and learn a new technique!

Family Camping Trip

June 12 - 14 our family was invited by the McLean family to go on a camp out.

Little did I know that it was her step dad's family who was planning the camp out.

It was awesome we did nothing and the boy's had 8 other kids to play with and they ALL got along great! I'm so thankful they allowed our family to tag along!

This is Cuda, he joined our family the end of May. His family were moving and couldn't take him with them so we met him and fell in love with his. He's a sweet dog who loves the boys and Tink enjoys playing with him.

Home Made Baby Shower Gifts...

My Dear Friend Rebecca is expecting a sweet baby boy.

She loves twall... I was looking thru Saver's looking for fabric

for my costume for the musical and stumbled upon this

Fabric! It was PERFECT!! I knew I had to find SOMETHING

to make it into for her!! Then another friend posted

a project she just made for herself as she is expecting too.

A nursing cover... With boning to help see baby with out

showing anything off! I kinda had to change it a bit but

it worked out great just look at it! She received it

this weekend and her eye's lit up as soon as she

saw the print! That made it all worth while right

there!! I Love You Rebecca!!

It's reversible with a neck strap, if I have another I'll

be sure to make me one of these!

This is called a swaddle cloth, It is huge but it will

cover a car seat when you need that extra shade for the

baby and will last longer than just a few months!

You have to make burp cloths... You can never have enough

of these!! I had fun making these things and am amazed at all the

talents God has given me!

This is Griffin, my 4th Son. He is Alex's Best Friend and lives at our house for the

most part. He asked me if I'd make him a cake for his birthday.

I couldn't say NO. (His Mom passed away this summer from Breast cancer)

His Dad is just to busy to worry about the little things.

He's all dressed up for there musical.

and he loves to hog med packs and pain pills hence the cake!

My Best Friend Colleen has kept me busy this last few weeks. Her cousin passed away unexpectedly and her and her family asked me to do the flowers for his funeral.

He was cremated so I made an Urn arrangement.

We were unable to get a photo with it but it turned out nice.

His Brother wanted a wreath. First one I've made, it turned out well.

A spray that has ribbons that say Father, Brother, Son.

Her Husband's birthday was Sunday and he is a HUGE Jimmy Buffett Fan so I made him a
Cheese Burger in Paradise. We took it to Margarita Ville and half the staff came out to see it when we had them bring it out to him.

With the Help of my dear friend Melissa we spent our whole spring break making our costumes so we could keep them! I love it and found that making ruffles is fun!

Our life these past few months have been surrounded with Musical practice's. Alex is in his School play of Singin' in the Rain which runs April 29, 30 & May 1st. He plays Cosmo and is enjoying being a goof off and not get in trouble for it!

Our Stake is putting on a Broadway Musical which they are doing Show choir style with parts depicting some of the scenes from the musicals we are singing. They are doing songs from Lion Kink, Wicked/Wizard of Oz, Oliver & Les Mis. Jedrek got the role of Oliver and has a solo that will melt your heart! The dates are April 15-17 Time is at 7 I believe. Hope to see you guys there!!!!

When my niece had her baby I had to go see them. It took us a week to get up to visit but we did! She lives in Prescott and they got snow with the big storm in January. So Jed had a Wednesday off so we call the kids in and headed up the hill! It was a great day trip! I held the baby most of the day due to mommy being tired to a late night the night before! I was happy to help!!! Jed's Mom lives in Chino Valley and she came down to see us. It was a great visit!

Better Late then Never! Christmas Concert's

I know this was a LONG time ago but life has been crazy!

Jedrek and Alex had a concert the same night at two different schools!

Jedreks started a half hour before Alex's so we dropped Alex off and

prayed we make it to his before he hit the stage.Here is Jedrek Playing the snare drum. He did a good job. Since then

he got bored with it cuz he wasn't learning much from it and he didn't want

to drop PE so he decided to drop band.

Since we got there late we were off to the side but got
to see Alex fairly well.

Sunday was the worst day of my life thus far, I lost my beloved baby. I'm thankful that he/she is in Heaven with there other cousin and Grandmother I'm sure it is getting so much love up there.

Corben came running in my room the other day exclaiming, MOM THEY HAVE THIS SHOE HOLDER THAT HOLDS 15 PAIRS OF SHOES AND IT IS ONLY $10!!!!!
He thought it was the most amazing thing! I don't think it was worth being woken up for though!
(Maybe he'll get one of the shoe holders that hang over the door for Christmas... Sounds like a cheep gift to me!)

Girls Camp

I was delighted when I received a call from our wards YW President asking if I would be willing to spend 3 of the 5 days at girls camp. It took no time at all for me to JUMP at the chance! I love girls camp and the Young Women. We had a lovely time and my family were all intact when I arrived home 3 days latter. Here are some pictures for you to enjoy!

I arrived just in time for hike day! This is Sam and I as we start the hike!

This is the creek we crossed. They asked me to head up the back to make sure there was no stragglers and well we got left behind as we had a handicapped girl in front of us. Oh well we did a different hike and got back before anyone else.

I just loved the creek,so beautiful!

Since we got back before everyone else I asked the stake if I could take Sam rock hopping since she didn't get to do the hike. (look at the water bottle holders I made for the girls! Aren't they cute!)

(I slipped shortly after this and got a bruise on the bottom of my big toe! Ouch!!)

Family Camp Out!

We planed a family camp out with my brothers and about a day or so before my brother Chance called me and said I don't think we'll be going cuz it's going to rain. Well we said fine and decided to go any ways a little rain never hurt any one.

We left Friday mid morning and we were going to stay till Sunday afternoon, my dad and other brothers wife were going to meet us on Saturday.
When we got to Knoll Lake it was beautiful, we stayed at a managed camp site with pottys and running water. They had campsites that had a nice flat spot for your tent, a picnic table, fire pit and even a grill. It was the perfect spot! Then the rain came, and it kept coming, all night long, our tent started leaking and Jed fixed it and we were off to bed. Well when we woke up to birds chirping we thought oh it's going to be a nice day, and minutes later it started raining again and our tent started leaking more. After looking out side and seeing that it was incredibly muddy and not sure when or if the rain would let up we decided to cut our losses. We packed everything up and headed back home and called everyone to tell them it was a flop!

Due to all the rain pictures were not taken except for the few I took on the way up of the clouds. On the way we drove thru some really dense patches kinda scary!

I KNOW, I KNOW it has been a LONG time but I have been lazy with downloading pictures and then going to girls camp and then had Corben's birthday party this has just been on the back burner.

Alex's play was AWESOME, he did a great job. I regret to inform you that I have no pictures. I do have a video of it but it is to big to get on here Jed tried. We may break it down in to segments, but for now I have nothing.

Corben had a water day at school the last week of school I have lots of picts I'll share with you!

Project Book Babe!

Saturday my and my other friend who's husband is currently unemployed went to a benefit for Faith. She is an "Book Babe" to many authors and helps them sell there books before they are known. She has breast cancer and Stephenie Myer and 10 other Authors had this event to help her raise money to fight her battle with breast cancer.
I thought that my phone camera would be good enough to get some Pict's but I had to get the cheapest ticket so my seat wasn't the best, but luckily my friend brought hers. She got some video of parts of it. I had a great time and got an autographed copy of Goose Girl by Shannon Hale! A great book I highly recommend it!

So for Christmas I made shirts for my Dad and Step Mom and ever since I wanted to try other idea's out.

Here is a twilight shirt i made yesterday. I love my husband the tree and the pepole were his Idea. I love it!

My husband had this idea for a Cardnials shirt. We made one for everyone in our family and you can bet we will be wearing them on sunday! WOO HOO GO CARDS!!!!

I also made a twilight shirt for my sister in law for her birthday and she said I should sell them. What do you think, would you buy one?

Vernal, Utah Update

This past Wednesday Jed and I travel the 670 mile to check out this town and see if we could move our family there. Jed had his interview on Thursday and I met with a Realtor. He took me to a couple houses the first was a fixer upper, the second was ready to move in. I loved it. Well before we can figure out a house to get we need to know what we can get qualified for. We went to the bank and they pulled you our credit scores and said, you do not have good enough credit. Not a huge shocker. Jed has been out of work for 5 months and some things are late being paid. Well we were having a hard time knowing if we should move or not and we have been praying for and answer. So for all of our dear friends and family we will not be moving to Vernal, Utah. We could rent if we wanted to pay $1,700 for a small 3 bedroom. We just feel that Heavenly Father doesn't want us to move there right now. That is OK with me the High was 35 while we were there. Not a great place for a girl who loves the Phoenix summers!

Suessical the Musical!

Mt. Sky Jr. High is putting on a spring musical. It's Suessical the Musical. I had no clue there were try outs till the Dec. 18 when Alex's choir teacher called and said, "I really think Alex has a good shot at a lead roll can you please bring him by for a try out." Boys do they just not communicate or what? I ask everyday anything I need to know going on at school? "Nope".
Well he made one of the lead parts he is Jojo he is in every scene but 1. He has 49 out of the 64 rehearsals. Blah! I'll post more when it gets closer.
Hopefully Jed gets a job in town and we don't have to move to Utah! Update for people who do not know, Jed has a company interested in him in Utah and Jed and I are going up to check it out on Wednesday.

Home Made Christmas Presents

This year with a tight wallet I decided to make the kids home made Christmas presents. I was going to do allot of different things but our family received and over whelming amount of help this Christmas that only one was necessary. First I made Jedrek a Sock monkey!

When I was all done with that project I made Corben a sock elephant.

Alex wanted me to make him a color pencil roll up like his brother got from his aunt for his birthday but I found a cool pattern that hold color pencils and a small drawing pad.Can't forget Grandma & Grandpa! I made them a shirt with the kids hand prints on them. Instead of the same old panted hands I cut out the kids hands and taped them on to the shirt and sprayed it with bleach water. I love the effect and it good to know that the hand print won't come off after excessive washings! I have to give a BIG THANK YOU to my AWESOME sister in law who helped me embroider the wording on the shirts!I had a ton of fun doing all my projects and look forward to making more bleach water shirts!

Christmas

I'm getting excited for Christmas! I've made a few things for my family since we do not have any extra cash and I can't wait till I can post them! See ya in a few more days!

Oh on another note I have a few cute little kids say the darndest things.
Awhile back we had an incident and we were trying to figure out exactly what happened and the explanation was I didn't kick him his head just hit my foot.
Nice huh!

Corben's teacher related this to me. She was having the student that was in charge of finding out the weather look outside to see what it was and as they were coming back a little voice suddenly started to sing "I can see clearly now the rain is gone."
He is so silly like that all the time. I thought I would share a few cute little things since it has been awhile since I last posted anything, I have a bit to do it's just getting on the right computer so I can post the picture for it!

All Things Twilight!

Last night Me and 9 other Twilight freaks decided that sleep was overrated and decided to go wait in line and watch the midnight showing of Twilight! I loved it! It was wonderful, I can't wait to see it again! There are a few diffrences but it all worked great to keep the story almost perfect! I highly recomend it! Check out these pics I took of the movie!

Garden Update

I thought I would take some Picts of my garden and share what we have growing! Our Garden (I know it needs a good weeding)

My Tomatoes, We grew this from a seed its a huge plant now and has tons of tomatoes growing on it!

Cilantro or Coriander which ever you prefer!

Broccoli and a watermelon, I don't think the watermelon will make it though its getting to cold.

Our Garden

At the beginning of summer we started a garden. We planted Watermelon, pumpkins, bell peppers, and tomatoes. Well we had great luck with the watermelons, pumpkins, and one tomato plant (we started everything from seeds). We had a few watermelons and our pumpkin vines were going crazy, then we had a TON of rain and our pumpkins got some kind of fungus or something and we lost all our vines and the watermelons we had tasted awful. I heard watermelons do not like a lot of water. Oh well we thought we'll try again next year, but then our watermelon vines went crazy again and we had more watermelons growing and we got this form it!

We had to try it to see if it was any good, Dad was the first to make sure it was safe!
Dad said it was Yummy and Sweet and so of course the boys had to try some too!

We still have a little left, if your quick enough to come for a visit maybe you can try some too!

Elders Quarm Shooting Trip

I hate Quail the first weekend in October.

Every year when quail season starts my husband goes out hunting with Dan Pennell, and most of the boys who were in the priest quorm while I was a teen, along with some of the great leaders of that time. Well as you can see it's the first weekend of October and I am playing the role of the single mother. I only have 2 boys this year as Alex is now a priesthood holder and that is the main requirement to go on to this trip.

I'm happy that my husband gets to go and have a great time with his friends, but did anyone ever say I had to like it? I love my husband very much and cherish EVERY moment spent together. So with that said, I HATE QUAIL for this weekend.

Today my little Alex isn't little any more. Today he graduated Primary and was given the presthood. Next week he'll pass the sacrement and then before I know it he'll be getting ready to serve his mission. It was a wonderful day my oldest brother and his family were able to come to our ward and my dad and step mom were there too. After church we had a lunchen and my other brother met us at our house. It was a nice day shared with cousins and family and our good friends the Jarman's. I wish I would have taken some pictures but it sliped my mind as I was enjoying our wonderful company. Hope you all had a wonderful sunday any way you may have spent it.

I've been working for 3 weeks now and I like it. I miss being home when my kids get home but at least dad is there. As for him, he still hasn't found a job yet. He has 45 resumes out and keeps putting more in everyday. He's got a good lead with a company that is just starting here and it sounds good, but I won't hold my breath just yet. Oh as for me I work for Toni & Guy Hair Salon. I get free hair cuts and only have to pay $18 to get my hair died. I love those benefits. The boys are doing great in school and Alex and Jedrek's birthdays are just around the corner. Hope that I can get pics up of my bathroom remodel up soon. Its finally done except for finishing work and I've been enjoying my tub!

So the job hunt continues for Jed. It's been 3 weeks and its starting to get very tight. But I found a job. Its not much but it's better then nothing. Hope this all get worked out soon. I know it's all for a reason but I don't have to like it. Blaa Job market sucks right now!

First day of school 2008

So Monday my baby started kindergarten!

When we dropped him off he found his teacher and gave her a big hug and a kiss! Man is he a smoosher!

This year Jedrek is a big 3rd grader!

He said yeah mom you can walk me to class, we got close to his class and he was gone, no bye mom or even a hug :o(

And then my big baby Alex started 7th grade!
He didn't need his mom, he got up took a shower and was ready, he leaves an hour after his brothers. He doesn't get home till almost 4! Oh I can not believe he only has 6 more years of school, time flys so fast! Just about a month left till he gets to start to pass the sacrament! Oh boy I'm feeling old!

It Finaly happened...

So Wednesday Jed had to go into the office cuz his boss was in town and he came home and I asked if he talked to his boss as it is review time and he said yep and Friday is the last day for the phoenix office. Blah! We were kinda warned but they had just gotten a new job for our office and it will be alot of work so we thought we were in the clear, but I guess it's just to much to keep open so it's done. Jed is unemployed. For the first time in our 12 years of marriage, we have been blessed with not having to worry about that.
I am very hopeful he has a ton of leads and his bosses are talking him up to everyone they know and there are a few BIG companies that are looking to hire. We'll just keep praying and doing the things we need to do and I know everything will work out.

Breaking Dawn

Ok I now have my life back! I finished Breaking Dawn this morning and now the kids have there mom back! I wasn't that bad with this book, I got the book at midnight at B&N (I WON A SHIRT!) Crazy me going all by myself cuz no one elses was going but I ran into some old friends it was nice to catch up with others who are as crazy as me! I took 4 days to read it so I got some stuff done! If you haven't read the twilight series yet do because they are the best books around! (well at least to me they are) If you live close to me you can barow mine I have them all (4). Any who as you can see by my blog now I'm counting down for the Twilight movie! Only 4 more months! I DON'T THINK I CAN STAND IT! LOL

I love rain it is the best! But not when it comes inside the house! Thankfully my husband can take care of things like that and we were able to fix the problem till it dryes out. We had water leaking in through one of our windows so we put a huge tarp over it for the moment. Its doing the job so woo hoo! Now I hope we can fix the problem cheaply. New windows are not in our budget right now. Blah the joy's of owning an older home!

Corben had a wonderful day on Wednesday we woke him up with pancakes topped with cool whip and strawberries, then we took him to Toy's R Us to use a gift card their birthday club sent him.
Then we went to Build a Bear to use a $5 off coupon he got from them.
He picked an Elephant and named it Elliot! He is so cute! After we were done there we went to lunch at Red Robbins!

What a wonderful day we had as a family celebrating Corben's birthday!

So about three weeks ago in preparation for Corben's birthday party we laid sod in our back yard.

We got up at 5:30 am to lay the sod and it was still hot! We didn't have a huge amount to do so with help from our friend Ben we were done with a 700 sq ft patch in the backyard and 100 sq ft in our dog run!

Bad Day...

Yesterday as we continue to prepare our backyard for Corben's 5th birthday party we get a text from Jeds mom saying Jed's dad isn't doing good and the VA hospital in prescott was transporting him down to phoenix, his mom didn't worry about it after all this is about the 100th time this has happened. She decided she didn't want to rush down last night as she figuared all was well and had my sister in law calling to get updates. She called right after he got in and they said that they were doing a bunch of things and it seemed ok, but that my mother in law should come down as he was upgraded to crittical (not the first time either). Halley waited a bit and they would not tell her anything but suggested she come in so Jed went with her and when they got there he had already passed away. It is a sad thing but at the same time with my knowlage I'm happy that he doesn't have to suffer any more. He had heart problems, arthritis, dieabeties, and blood pressure problems. RIP Bernard Franklin Miller we love you!

The End of School...

Well Wednesday was the last day of School and Alex's last day as an elementary student.

Jedrek got perfect attendance for the whole year! What a great accomplishment! I'm so happy for him!

A week ago the school had a lip sync and Alex and one of his friends participated. They chose to do a song by Weird Al Yankovic called Ebay. Well it was the hit of the whole lip sync and all the school loved it especialy the 6th graders so at the end of the awards Assembly the Principal said we have a special song for the 6th grade to walk out to. I thought it was going to be something sappy but lo and behold it was Ebay. Alex decided to take the time to make one last performance for his fellow students!

Early Anniversary Trip

Monday Jed and I headed out to Sedona for an early anniversary trip. It was just in time to beat the 110 degree weather. We had a great time and got to do a little hiking. My favorite hike is Devils Bridge. I highly recommend it to any one making the trip to Sedona. This picture is at Grasshopper Point it looks like a post card. I love it
